Sydney FC Foundation Celebrates International Day of People with Disability at Sky Park
The Sydney FC Foundation proudly welcomed participants, families and community partners to Sky Park in celebration of the 2025 International Day of People with Disability, creating an afternoon centred on inclusion, connection and the power of sport. The event aligned with this year’s global theme, “Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.”
Hosted at the home of Sydney FC, the event brought together people of all abilities for a memorable experience featuring football, sport and interactive activities in an environment designed to be welcoming, accessible and inclusive.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in a range of football-based activities delivered by the Sydney FC Foundation, alongside activations hosted by community partners who helped create an exciting and inclusive festival atmosphere. The event celebrated the abilities, leadership and contributions of people with disability while providing opportunities for connection, confidence building and shared experiences through sport.
The International Day of People with Disability event reflects the Sydney FC Foundation’s ongoing commitment to ensuring football is accessible to everyone. Through programs such as Sydney FC Empowers Me! and the Sydney FC Powerchair Program, the Foundation continues to create meaningful opportunities that support participation, wellbeing and social inclusion for people with disability.
The energy and enthusiasm displayed across Sky Park highlighted the important role sport can play in bringing communities together. From participants trying new activities to families connecting with others who share similar experiences, the day served as a powerful reminder that football has the ability to create belonging, break down barriers and inspire confidence.
The Sydney FC Foundation extends its sincere thanks to all participants, families, volunteers and partners who contributed to making the event such a success. Together, we continue to build a more inclusive future through the power of football — one pass at a time.
